This is some of the most sad, mindless, scary wingnut bullsh*t I've ever read, uttered by talk radio idiot Dennis Prager:

Some Sick People in the Republican Base
As I noted a bit earlier today, Barack Obama will be taking Thursday and Friday off to visit his sick grandmother. When I heard the news, I shuddered at the prospect of what hateful, vile things this might prompt some on the lunatic fringe to say.
Well, I came across some of this over on Jake Tapper's ABC News blog and, in the spirit of exposing these nutjobs to the cold light of scrutiny, posted some below. If you're emotionally dyspeptic over the election, you may not want to read further.
One person slams Obama's dead mother:
The fact that his GM raised him doesn't say much for his "wonderful" mother.
Think I recall him saying that he was fearful of his GM. Where was his mother when he was growing up? Didn't want to share the food stamps. Hum.... Maybe someone from a decent part of the MSM might be trying to interview his GM; bet she would have some stories to tell.
While he is gone and Michelle takes over, with any luck she will step in some more s- - -. When I listen to her I hear the Rev. Wright.
This one brims over with warm Christian empathy:
Ask me if I really care. Maybe he can get that crazy radical Rev. Wright to "pray" for her during his next "damn America" sermon.

I needed to see a bit of this today. At a recent McCain rally, some right-wing nutjobs were out peddling hateful rhetoric against Obama and falsely accusing him of being a Muslim. A journalist captured a refreshing moment of sanity, where some rational folks and a few McCain-supporting Muslims drove the wingnut bigots off the grounds:

A Window into Intolerant American Xenophobia
I don't know why I torture myself watching videos like this. I suppose it's good to understand what you're fighting against but this clip, from a new PBS program, disgusts me on so many levels. Listen to the way that this allegedly good Christian woman oozes contempt for just the words "Obama" and "Muslim". Isn't it amazing how so many people in our country have twisted the largely inclusive, caring message of the Bible into an irrational, angry screed of racism, hatred and xenophobia?

McCain/Palin Playing With Hate-Filled Fire
I am really starting to freak out over the unhinged psychotics that have been attending McCain/Palin rallies over the last week. Their support for McCain has been quickly turning into a froth of anger, hatred, xenophobia and racism. This is not acceptable and the fact that McCain or Palin has not stopped their speeches to try to at least partially hold back the tide of bilious filth is shameful, dangerous and certainly is not putting "Country First."
As Andrew Sullivan points out:
There was always going to be a point of revolt and panic for a core group of Americans who believe that Obama simply cannot be president - because he's black or liberal or young or relatively new. This is that point. As the polls suggest a strong victory, the Hannity-Limbaugh-Steyn-O'Reilly base are going into shock and extreme rage. McCain and Palin have decided to stoke this rage, to foment it, to encourage paranoid notions that somehow Obama is a "secret" terrorist or Islamist or foreigner. These are base emotions in both sense of the word.
But they are also very very dangerous. This is a moment of maximal physical danger for the young Democratic nominee. And McCain is playing with fire. If he really wants to put country first, he will attack Obama on his policies - not on these inflammatory, personal, creepy grounds. This is getting close to the atmosphere stoked by the Israeli far right before the assassination of Rabin.
For God's sake, McCain, stop it. For once in this campaign, put your country first.

Man Shot for Wearing Obama T-Shirt
Now that McCain and Palin have opened the floodgates of simmering Republican hatred and resentment, is this a prelude of things to come?
A man told today how he was shot three times in a London street for wearing a Barack Obama T-shirt.
Dube Egwuatu was buying a mobile telephone top-up card in an off-licence when the gunman confronted him and glared at the top, which carries an image of the Democrat US presidential candidate underneath the legend 'Believe'.
The man then launched into a tirade of racist slurs, shouting 'I f***ing hate n*****s' and urging 36-year-old Mr Egwuatu to leave the shop with him...
'I couldn't believe it was happening - and just because I was wearing an Obama T-shirt. He was trying to make me walk somewhere quieter, saying: 'I've got something for you,' and 'I'm going to kill you.'
He added: 'Obama inspires me, his educational track record alone is quite unbelievable - that is why I was wearing the T-shirt.
'I did not think for one minute it could stir up such powerful feelings of hatred and I never said a word to him.'

Republican Hatred Watch: 'Treason!'
As noted earlier today, the McCain campaign is whipping up the Republican faithful into a frothing mass of fear and hatred.
The latest example?
An attendee at a recent Palin rally screamed out "Treason!" after Palin snidely referred to Barack Obama:
In the latest instance of inflammatory outbursts at McCain-Palin rallies, a crowd member screamed "treason!" during an event on Tuesday after Sarah Palin accused Barack Obama of criticizing U.S. troops.
"[Obama] said, too, that our troops in Afghanistan are 'air raiding villages and killing civilians,'" Palin said, mischaracterizing a 2007 remark by Obama. "I hope Americans know that is not what our brave men and women in uniform are doing in Afghanistan. The U.S. military is fighting terrorism and protecting us and protecting our freedom."
Shortly afterward, a male member of the crowd in Jacksonville, Florida, yelled "treason!" loudly enough to be picked up by television microphones.
