News and commentary on why America needs Barack Obama at this moment in our history.
One of the more disturbing things about the Palin pick has been watching some of the die-hard, tone-deaf conservative commentators out there trying to spin wool into gold.
I mean, ask yourself what they'd be saying if McCain chose a horse as his running mate? Perhaps we'd be treated to gems such as:
"Wow, this really shows McCain's maverick side -- we've never had a horse for a nominee before!"or
"Well, it's an Arabian horse so it obviously has significant insight into our foreign policy objectives in the Middle East."
Probably the most depressing thing about Palin is not her selection but the defense of it. It has produced a parade of GOP spokesmen intent on spiking the needle on a polygraph. Looking right into the camera, they offer statement after statement that they hope the voters will swallow but that history will forget. The sum effect on the diligent news consumer is a feeling of consummate contempt for the intelligence of the American people -- a contempt that will be justified should Palin be the factor that makes McCain a winner in November.

All the republican religious retards are for her. It is good to see that abstinence has worked so good at home for her. Typical hypocrite republican. So once again drag the vote away from important issues, hiding corporate greed behind reproductive issues. I wonder where she will build the next bridge?
