These Aren't Training Wheels We Can Believe In

If you want a quick primer on how out of touch John McCain is with his own campaign, check this out. As I noted before, the McCain campaign made it clear that Sarah Palin will be sequestered, away from the media's prying eyes, until she's ready to face questions. Here's campaign hack Rick Davis:

"She'll agree to an interview when we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it," David said on "Fox News Sunday." He added that she wouldn't give any interviews "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference." (emphasis mine)

"Respect" and "DEFERENCE"!? Are you kidding me? When's the last time you heard a politician demand deference from the national news media!?
def·er·ence - noun : A disposition or tendency to yield to the will of others.

Leaving aside the puerile and infuriating nature of Davis' statements, check out what John McCain said in his interview on Face the Nation today, when asked when Palin will do interviews:
"Within the next few days and I'm strongly recommending that she come on 'Face the Nation' with Bob Schieffer," McCain said in an interview that was taped on Saturday.

Um, does McCain ever, you know, actually talk with his own chief lobbyist campaign manager?
