Obama Calls Out McCain for Shady Fundraiser
Here's the Obama campaign today calling out John McCain for attending a fundraiser today partially organized by Ralph Reed, a key ally of convicted felon Jack Abramoff (who is serving six years in prison on a criminal case out of Florida, where he pled guilty in January 2006 to charges of conspiracy, honest services fraud and tax evasion):
The old John McCain wouldn't have allowed one of Jack Abramoff's top cronies to raise money for him," said Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor. "But this time around, it's clear that Senator McCain is willing to do whatever it takes to win-even if that means embracing President Bush's policies, his tactics, and now his disgraced fundraisers. The American people want a real change, not the same old Washington politics that Jack Abramoff and Ralph Reed perfected."
